GREAT THINGS ARE DONE BY SERIES OF SMALL THINGS BROUGHT TOGEATHER  - VINCENT VAN GOGH

 THIS MODULE WHICH WAS TAKEN BY SHATABHISHA MAM, AN ALUMNI OF SHANTINIKETAN SCHOOL OF ARTS, CALCUTTA, SHE KNEW THAT FOR  ANIMATION STORYTELLING IS IMPORTANT, THAT SEEING A PICTURE AND GIVING OUR OWN INTERPRETATION OUT OF IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT . GIVING MY OWN INTERPRETATION  TO PICTURES WAS ONEOF THE MAIN THING THAT I LEARNED FROM  OUR HISTORY OF ART AND DESIGN MODULE.

One of our assignment was to pick an artist and select one of his/her work and connecting it with any current news, we use photoshop for this.

THE TWO FRIDAS

- FRIDA KAHLO.

As it is very rightly said "miracles do happen" and this miracle happened in a city called Bengaluru in Karnataka. Akkai padmashali and Vasu registered their marriage and this was no ordinary marriage. Akkai who was born a boy but chose to become transgender was accepted Vasu. This one act will become a breaking point for thousands. In this image the husband shows a strong gesture of acceptance towards his wife. He is beside her as she is cutting ties to the old myths that have been growing in our world. The dripping blood represents the hardship she'll have to face yet her happiness is overpowering it. In the background Yellamma, south Indian goddess is giving her blessing to this just act making it easier for a mass to connect with it. (Goddess Yellamma is worshipped by the transgenders of Andhra Pradesh Maharashtra and Karnataka.)

NEXT TASK WAS POSTER MAKING.  WE HAD TO CHOOSE ART WORK AND LOOK AT ITS COLOUR PALETTE AND COLOUR PROPORTION AND MAKE A POSTER FOR ANY CURRENT SOCIAL,POLITICAL OR ENTERTAINMENT NEWS. I TOOK HENRI DE TOULOUSE LAUTREC'S POSTER AND  CHOOSE ENTERTAINMENT AND WORED ON POSTER OFHARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF ASKABAR.
